Bio

Nancy Yinan Zhao, a pianist and musician based in Montreal, Canada, was born in Shanghai, China. She graduated from Concordia University in Canada with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Composition, earning honors. She studied under pianist Gregory Chavedian and composers Georges Dimitrov and Sandeep Bhagwati. Nancy holds the ABRSM Piano Performance Diploma and the Shanghai Musicians Association Level 10 Certificate.

Nancy has been playing the piano for many years and has extensive experience in piano teaching. In China, she focused on ABRSM piano pedagogy (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music). Now in Canada, she brings broad teaching experience in piano performance, music theory, and harmony, emphasizing a systematic yet personalized approach.

Her students have repeatedly achieved perfect scores in theory exams, high marks in harmony, and multiple first-place awards in RCM piano performance examinations in Quebec. They have also won numerous prizes at prestigious competitions such as the Montreal Classical Music Festival, the Canadian International Music Competition, and the Quebec Music Competition.

As an active music educator, Nancy is dedicated to conveying deep musical emotions and artistic expression through her nuanced and expressive teaching style.

Nancy Yinan Zhao, pianiste et musicienne établie à Montréal, Canada, est née à Shanghai, en Chine. Elle est diplômée en composition musicale de l’Université Concordia au Canada, avec mention d’honneur.
