Tao Tao holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from the Université de Montréal. She is a member of the Royal Conservatory of Music Teachers’ Association in Toronto, Guest Professor at the College of Music and Media, Shenyang University, and on the Preparatory Faculty of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal.
Beginning piano studies at the age of eight, she entered the New England Conservatory in Boston at seventeen with a full scholarship to study with Alexander Korsantia. She later earned her Master’s degree at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University under Alexander Shtarkman, and completed an Artist Diploma with Canada’s renowned pianist André Laplante. In 2025, she received her DMA under Jean Saulnier and Henry Kramer, silver medalist of the Queen Elisabeth Competition.
Tao Tao has appeared in concert at venues such as the Wiener Saal of the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Bösendorfer Hall in Vienna, Keiter Center, Pierce Hall and Friedberg Hall in the United States, and Montreal’s Salle Claude-Champagne. She has also been featured at the New Paltz International Piano Festival and the Orford Music Festival. Her artistry has been praised by André Laplante as “full of intelligence and a deeply self-reflective sense of listening.”
