Sophie Hsu began piano lessons at the age of four with Wei-Sze Chang and went on to participate in numerous competitions, including the Canadian Music Competition and the Montreal Classical Music Festival, earning top honours in her category multiple times, notably winning first place for eight consecutive years at the Classical Music Festival and achieving the highest mark in the piano category at the 1997 Canada Music Competition.

In 2006, celebrating 250 years since Mozart’s birth, the Austria Society sponsored Sophie to perform Mozart’s famous Coronation piano concerto in D major with symphony orchestra of F.A.C.E., in the presence of the Austrian Ambassador of Canada.

Sophie has been teaching since 2008 and is an RCM Certified Teacher. In recent years, she has dedicated her time to composing and teaching, and her innovative methods have led her students to achieve remarkable results in piano examinations and performances. Sophie’s love of music inspires her students to pursue piano as a passion. In 2021, she received the Teacher of Distinction Award from The Royal Conservatory of Music.

Sophie Hsu a commencé le piano à l’âge de quatre ans avec Wei-Sze Chang et a participé à de nombreux concours, notamment le Canadian Music Competition et le Montreal Classical Music Festival, remportant à plusieurs reprises les plus hautes distinctions dans sa catégorie, notamment la première place pendant huit années consécutives au Classical Music Festival et la note la plus élevée dans la catégorie piano au Canada Music Competition de 1997.

En 2006, pour célébrer le 250e anniversaire de la naissance de Mozart, la Société autrichienne a commandité Sophie pour interpréter le célèbre Concerto pour piano « Coronation » en ré majeur avec l’orchestre symphonique de F.A.C.E., en présence de l’Ambassadeur d’Autriche au Canada.

Sophie enseigne depuis 2008 et est professeur certifié par le RCM. Ces dernières années, elle s’est consacrée à la composition et à l’enseignement, et ses méthodes innovantes ont permis à ses élèves d’obtenir des résultats remarquables aux examens et aux prestations de piano. L’amour de la musique de Sophie inspire ses élèves à poursuivre le piano avec passion. En 2021, elle a reçu le prix Teacher of Distinction du Royal Conservatory of Music.
