Bio

Gabriel Prynn est un violoncelliste et pédagogue reconnu internationalement, basé à Montréal, Canada. Il détient un Doctorat en interprétation du violoncelle de l’Université de Montréal et a poursuivi sa formation au Royal Northern College of Music et à l’Université de Manchester, au Royaume-Uni.

Avec plus de 25 ans d’expérience, le Dr Prynn se produit à l’international en tant que soliste, musicien de chambre et chef de pupitre, notamment avec le Trio Fibonacci, l’Atlantic Music Festival Orchestra et l’Orchestre Philharmonique du Québec. Il a également dirigé des classes de maître et des ateliers dans des institutions prestigieuses aux États-Unis, au Canada, en Allemagne, en France et en Chine.

En tant qu’enseignant, il privilégie l’excellence technique, l’expression musicale et le développement artistique, offrant un enseignement personnalisé pour tous les niveaux. Ses cours couvrent le répertoire solo, la musique de chambre, la préparation orchestrale, les œuvres contemporaines et les stratégies de performance.

Le Dr Prynn accompagne également les jeunes musiciens dans leur développement professionnel, les guidant dans la préparation de concerts, la planification de carrière et la direction de projets musicaux.

Gabriel Prynn is an internationally recognized cellist and educator based in Montreal, Canada. He holds a Doctor of Music in Cello Performance from the University of Montreal and has trained at the Royal Northern College of Music and the University of Manchester in the UK.

With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Prynn has performed globally as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral principal, including with Trio Fibonacci, the Atlantic Music Festival Orchestra, and the Quebec Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also led masterclasses and workshops at prestigious institutions worldwide, including universities in the USA, Canada, Germany, France, and China.

As a teacher, he emphasizes technical excellence, musical expression, and artistic growth, offering tailored instruction for students of all levels. His lessons cover solo repertoire, chamber music, orchestral preparation, contemporary works, and performance strategies, helping students develop both skill and musical voice.

Dr. Prynn is also a dedicated mentor in professional development for young musicians, guiding them in performance preparation, career planning, and ensemble leadership.
