Mrs. Joyal earned her degrees in Music and Education with distinction from the University of Manitoba and was the recipient of numerous academic scholarships. She holds certifications in Carl Orff – Music for Children and the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), specializing in piano (elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels) and music theory. Pier-Andrée had the privilege of pursuing advanced piano studies with renowned concert pianists André Laplante (Montreal, QC) and Boris Konovalov (Vancouver, BC).

With over forty years of teaching experience across both public and private sectors, Mrs. Joyal has taught in several Canadian cities—including Winnipeg (MB), Surrey (BC), Yellowknife (NT), Montreal (QC), and North Vancouver (BC)—as well as in the Republic of Panama. Her private studio is currently located in the Estrie region.

Mrs. Joyal excels at creating an environment that fosters learning. Thanks to her strong interpersonal skills and sense of humour, she connects easily with students of all ages, levels, and backgrounds. Students respond positively to her approach, which is defined by a relaxed atmosphere and continuous encouragement. While lessons are tailored to each individual, two core elements remain constant: attention to detail and the development of artistic expression.

Mrs. Joyal maintains high standards, expecting all students to perform well regardless of their age, level, or musical genre. She encourages them to give their best and strive for excellence. Consequently, her students regularly achieve top marks in Royal Conservatory of Music examinations and win awards at music festivals and competitions. Whether following a conservatory curriculum or playing for personal enjoyment, Mrs. Joyal meets each student's needs in a joyful atmosphere.

Mrs. Joyal also offers the engaging "Music for Little Mozarts" program, featuring group lessons designed for toddlers aged three and a half to six. Additionally, she provides her students with various opportunities to participate in workshops and perform publicly throughout the year.
