Bio

As a sought-after teacher, pianist, and composer, Marie-Andrée Ostiguy shares her passion for music with students of all ages in Quebec, Canada, and the United States. Her artist and teaching studio is based in Beloeil, on Montreal’s South Shore.

Since the early 2000s, she offers online piano lessons via videoconferencing on various platforms (FaceTime, Teams, Google Meet), for all ages and learning levels.

She began her musical studies at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec in Montreal, then pursues her training at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music in New York, Indiana University, the Banff School of Fine Arts, and the Université de Montréal, where she deepened her knowledge with renowned masters André Laplante, György Sebők, Shigeo Neriki, Jacinthe Couture, and Henri Brassard.

With extensive experience as a concert performer, competitor, and adjudicator, Marie-Andrée Ostiguy serves as a valued external coach. She works regularly with amateurs and professionals preparing for exams, performances, and competitions, as well as with teachers who seek to explore a fresh and modern pedagogical approach, while integrating new technologies.

Her teaching mission goes beyond technical and theoretical mastery: she aims to instil in her students a love of culture and beauty, a critical mind, and the confidence to embrace challenges—without ever forgetting that they are playing the piano!

She applies a structured, rational, and flexible teaching method, adapting it to each student's reality and learning pace. Her piano class presents an annual concert in June to mark the end of the school year.
