A piano teacher affiliated with the École de Musique Vincent-d’Indy in Montreal and a member of the Quebec Music Teachers’ Association (QMTA), Danielle Fournier is also active as an accompanist, solo pianist and composer.
In addition to three flute pieces commissioned by Karen North (Allegro Music Publishing), she writes mainly for piano at the intermediate level. Danielle likes writing short pieces in a wide variety of styles that are enjoyable to play for students and music lovers of all ages.
Her album Douze pièces pour piano (Twelve pieces for piano) is a collection of 12 compositions in a variety of styles, characters, and atmospheres, whereas her other volume, Six chants sans paroles (Six Songs without Words), presents lyrical pieces suitable for teenagers and adults.
Integrated into the program of various educational institutions in Quebec, her compositions are popular choices for exams, competitions and music festivals.
Her piece Ombrelle Versicolore, taken from the album Six chants sans paroles, is among the new additions to the book “Grade 5 Piano Exam Pieces” in the 2027-2028 Syllabus of the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music).
After a professional career in piano teaching, Danielle remains active as a choir accompanist and offers occasional piano recitals in retirement homes.
