Born into a family of musicians, Lisi Zhang has dedicated over fifty-five years to the field of music education. A graduate of Concordia University, she currently serves as a Senior Professor of Music Education. As a Certified Examination Specialist with the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), she has been honored with the RCM’s prestigious Distinction Teacher Award.

An internationally recognized authority in music education, Lisi Zhang has developed a unique teaching methodology that emphasizes strong foundational skills and the unlocking of each student’s full potential. She is highly skilled at tailoring instruction to students’ individual psychological and musical characteristics.

Among her many accomplishments are guiding absolute beginners to achieve Royal Conservatory of Music Certificate Program Grade 8 within three years, and mentoring numerous students who have won music competitions and received RCM Gold Medals. She has also trained many outstanding educators who now serve as core faculty members at various institutions.

For many years, Lisi Zhang has served as a judge for internationally recognized music competitions and contributed to the development of music examination standards. Actively involved in community music outreach, she upholds the educational philosophy of maintaining a passion for lifelong learning and continually striving for self-improvement. Her teaching excellence and professional contributions have earned wide respect in the industry, establishing her as a foundational leader and guiding force in music education.
