Leung

Ms.Serena Leung (B.Mus, McGill) has been a dedicated full-time piano teacher in Montreal since 2004, teaching students of all ages—from complete beginners to those at the Grade 10 level. Her teaching emphasizes building a solid foundation for beginners, such as cultivating good piano touch and coordinated muscle use, inner hearing and aural self-monitoring, an accurate sense of rhythm, fluid sight-reading skills, and efficient practice methods. At the same time, she places great importance on inspiring students' musical imagination, aesthetic sensibility, and expressiveness, guiding them to appreciate the vast world behind the notes. She also encourages her students to actively participate in various musical activities—ranging from informal peer performances to annual student recitals, as well as various music competitions and piano grade examinations. Her students frequently achieve First Class Honours and above in RCM piano examinations and have won awards in multiple music competitions (such as the Crescendo International Music Competition, the Montreal Classical Music Festival, the Quebec Music Competition, etc.).  She has also guided a student to admission to a local professional music conservatory for further studies in piano performance.
