Q. What is the application deadline?

A. The deadline is March 1st. The post mark or the fax must indicate March 1st at the latest.

Q. Must teachers be QMTA members to send students at the Festival?

A. As of 2011, the Festival will only be open to QMTA members' students.

Q. What can I do if I'm late?

Q. Why aren't cheques made out to Quebec Music Teachers' Association acceptable?

A. The QMTA and the Festival are two separate organizations, with separate accounts. Cheques must be made out to : Montreal Classical Music Festival, and dated no later than March 1st.

Q. I sent my entry form, but I did not get any confirmation.

A. We receive a large amount of entries. For that reason, we cannot confirm reception by phone or email. However, your teacher will receive a convocation, with the schedule during the first week of April. If you have not received your convocation by April 15, please contact us.

Q. Are all prize winners going to play at the Gala Concert?

A. No. A selection will be made by the judges, on the day of the performance. If you are not contacted by the Festival, it means you were not selected to play at the Gala. But you still have to come to the Gala Concert to claim your prize.

Q. How can I claim my prize?

A. All winners (or their representative) must attend the Gala Concert in order to claim their prizes. Prizes will not be sent by mail, but may be claimed at the Co-op Vincent-d'Indy, 628 chemin de la Côte-Ste-Catherine, Outremont (514) 342-5106. until June 27. Unclaimed prizes will revert to the following year's Festival bursary fund.

Q. When should I return a trophy?

A. If you win a trophy, you must bring it back before May 1 of the following year, at the Co-op Vincent-d'Indy (address above) or at École de musique de Verdun, 5601 Wellington, Verdun.

Q. Is it possible to change my repertoire after sending my registration?

A. If you wish to change your repertoire, or the order of the pieces performed, you must notify the Festival secretary before April 15. If you wish to remove a piece, you must notify the judge before your performance.

Q. If I cancel my participation, can I get my money back?

A. Registration fees are non-refundable, nor transferable to another candidate.

Q. How much are the tickets to the Gala Concert?

R. Entry is $6. and it's free for participants. A ticket is included in your convocation. The entry is free for all Festival sponsors as well.
